In this introductory workshop, learn the basics of milling lumber using a chainsaw mill.

This hands-on workshop will teach you the basics of the lumber milling process, which turns logs into useable lumber. Attendees will create slabs from a large (4 ft wide, 11 ft long) pin oak branch recently taken down on Swarthmore’s campus. If attending, please wear closed-toe leather shoes, pants, and a long-sleeve shirt.

Please dress for the weather- the milling will take place outdoors, next to the water tower.
