Is your bike, or a friend's bike, sadly sitting on a rack waiting for you to repair it?
Our friends from Neighborhood Bike Works* (NBW) will show you how to fix a flat tire and the basics of bicycle maintenance so that you can feel ready to repair yours and get back on the roads, trails, or pathways of Swarthmore and beyond!
We will reintroduce you to the Dero Fixit Stand on campus that includes multiple tools and a pump to help you at this workshop and after.
- 12:30-1:15: Fix-a-flat demonstration
- 1:15-2:30: Basic maintenance
During the second part of this event, attendees will have the opportunity to learn and practice basic maintenance procedures under the guidance of NBW. If you would like to bring your bike to the event, please let us know; we can guarantee working space for 8 attendees. Even if we can't accommodate your bike or you don't have a bike to bring, please come to observe and ask questions!
*Neighborhood Bike Works will also have supplies on hand for purchase. NBW will likely be showing you how to maintain your bike but will not be repairing your bike for you.
